Julia and Sjoerd, We so enjoyed the cottage and our stay in Aruba. The cottage was like a home away from home. Everything was neat, tidy, well thought out, and most enjoyable. It is quiet at night and the birds in the morning along with the sunrise makes for a glorius awakening. The beds are perfect, the internet fast, everything was complete down to the lotions in the bath. As host you are more then accommodating and helpful. Everywhere we went we were asked if we were enjoying our stay and how we liked the island! Our response was always the same, wonderful! Thank you, we hope to see you again in the near future. We stayed in this lovely cottage for a week. It was fantastic. All the comforts of home, at the edge of a national park. The cottage is perfectly situated to everything - beaches, hotels, windsurfing, kite boarding, restaurants. At night, the desert silence is made to order for peace and harmony.

We greatly enjoyed our stay of ten days at the Cottage. We had originally reserved for seven nights but were able to stay three more nights which greatly pleased us. We decided that the Cottage suited us the best of all the types of accommodation available on Aruba. Julia is very gracious and the Cottage is cozy with everything you to enjoy a stay in Aruba. We played tennis at the Racquet Club that is available to guests and visited the pool at the Boardwalk a few times. The highlight of our trip was an afternoon visit to de Palm island. We also snorkeled at a number of the beaches and hiked to the natural pool. We enjoyed a number of fine dinners at some of the restaurants (Yemanji in particular). A very relaxing vacation after a long winter of skiing.

So where does an expert on Aruba go to enjoy Aruba? In the spirit of transparency, Julia and Sjoerd are friends of ours, but when it comes to spending time and hard-earned money on our vacation I was not willing to settle for “just anything” and wanted something really special… I found it. Having lived on the island for 5 years I knew all the “ins and outs” of where to go and where to stay so when I saw Julia’s and Sjoerd’s “North Shore Cottage” on the Net I dropped everything and booked. Mascha (my wife) and our two boys Emilio (11) and Luca (8) had one of the best vacations we ever had anywhere. Much of that is directly attributable to “the cottage.” It is secluded enough that we did not feel like tourists – yet close enough that we were at our favourite beach (Arashi) in a few minutes by car. The cottage is perfectly appointed with everything we needed for a wonderful stay. From cable TV to all the appliances we needed, games, bicycles and most importantly for me, wireless internet so I could “check in” once in a while. Our 10 days were fantastic and Julia and Sjoerd went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. If you’re looking to “get away from it all” but want to be close enough to “get right back in it” then I think you will be hard pressed to find a more perfect place – anywhere! I must say we stayed 5 days in your cottage and that just wasnt enough time. We had the best vacation ever, and we are looking forward to coming again next yr. If you love nature and lazy days and quiet nights you will love this wonderful little cottage hideaway! It's tastefully decorated, with a full kitchen and so many other amenities that make it the perfect romantic getaway, family getaway, girl friend retreat etc.! Sitting on almost the very edge of Aruba but also close to the busy nightlife shopping and hotels. This cottage really offers something for everyone. My wife and I had a wonderful vacation at the Julia’s and Sjoerd’s North Shore Cottage in Aruba with our young son of 18 months. It was the perfect place to spend a relaxing vacation with lots of toys for our son and everything we needed for traveling with a child yet still having a romantic getaway. The cottage itself is fantastic. Very comfortable, private, and immaculately cared for while being conveniently located near the resorts and some of the best beaches on the island. We also had access to the Aruba Racquet Club through Sjoerd as well as use of the lounge chairs and amenities at Palm Beach by the Marriott Resorts. This was great because we had all of these facilities within a 3min drive from the cottage but none of the noise of being surrounded by lots of tourists when we got back to our cottage. Julia and Sjoerd go out of their way to be great hosts and meet your needs. They also provided us with a crib already set up at the cottage, a high chair, children’s toys, and a forward facing car seat which really made a big difference for us. I would highly recommend their North Shore Cottage to small families traveling together or couples looking to get away for a romantic vacation. Richard Wherry November 2009

Our stay at the cottage was great. As timeshare holders, it was beautiful to experience the island in a setting away from the resort scene, in a house that really feels like home. Julia and Sjoerd, the owners, are very attentive and accommodating, and really maintain the place in great condition.
