Hallo Julia, hallo Sjoerd,
so viele Wochen sind nun schon vergangen, seit dem wir in eurem wunderschönen Cottage unseren Urlaub verbringen durften! Und dennoch vergeht kaum ein Tag, an dem wir nicht an Aruba und die ereignisreichen Tage denken, die wir dort verbracht haben! Wir sind glücklich und dankbar, dass wir Aruba von seiner schönsten Seite kennenlernen konnten: das North Shore Cottage ist unserer Meinung nach der ideale Platz dafür! Mitten in der Natur gelegen, und doch so nah an allem, was man sonst noch so im Urlaub braucht. Und für uns mit das Schönste: nur ein paar Autominuten entfernt von der atemberaubenden Unterwasserwelt, die wir jeden Tag aufs Neue genossen haben! Habt nochmals vielen Dank für eure Gastfreundschaft; wir hoffen, irgendwann noch einmal die weite Reise nach Aruba antreten zu können, und wir wären glücklich, wenn wir unseren Urlaub wieder in dem wunderschönen Cottage verbringen könnten!

Absolutely wonderful cottage, location, and hosts! Loved every minute there! Will return for another stay! Thank you! p.s. as beautiful as it is in the daytime, the night sky with the brightest stars is one of my favorite things! Take care! Beth

We spent a wonderful 10 days at the Northshore Cottage this Oct 2011. We have visited the island many times before, but our stay at the cottage gave a delightful feeling of home. It also has a wonderful touch of culture and great atmosphere of Aruba. Thank you, Colleen

Well my husband and I just returned form the North Shore Cottage in Sunny Aruba. Our stay was fantastic! The cottage was just as it looks in the photos online. Everything you need is already there and it is so clean and everything so perfectly in it's place! We slept better at the cottage than we do at home. So peaceful, birds singing, frogs - well whatever you call that thing frogs do (rib bit?), anyway just lovely. Julia and Sjoerd were both very pleasant and helpful. The cottage guide they put together for the your stay is very informative and extremely helpful when choosing things to do from beaches to dining out. We would recommend this to everyone and we plan to come back to Sunny Aruba and we will stay at the North Shore Cottage. Thank you for a great experience!

Fabulous stay at the cottage. After a rough traveling experience this was great place to come to!! The cottage is spotless, tastefully decorated and had EVERYTHING you will need to feel at home. Julia made our stay easy and is very gracious host. We loved walking in the desert and riding the bikes along the shore... we will be back for sure and cannot recommend this cottage enough!! :)

Julia and Sjoerd,
We so enjoyed the cottage and our stay in Aruba. The cottage was like a home away from home. Everything was neat, tidy, well thought out, and most enjoyable. It is quiet at night and the birds in the morning along with the sunrise makes for a glorious awakening.
The beds are perfect, the internet fast, everything was complete down to the lotions in the bath.
As host you are more then accommodating and helpful. Everywhere we went we were asked if we were enjoying our stay and how we liked the island! Our response was always the same, wonderful!
Thank you, we hope to see you again in the near future.

We stayed in this lovely cottage for a week. It was fantastic. All the comforts of home, at the edge of a national park. The cottage is perfectly situated to everything - beaches, hotels, windsurfing, kite boarding, restaurants. At night, the desert silence is made to order for peace and harmony.

We greatly enjoyed our stay of ten days at the Cottage. We had originally reserved for seven nights but were able to stay three more nights which greatly pleased us. We decided that the Cottage suited us the best of all the types of accommodation available on Aruba. Julia is very gracious and the Cottage is cozy with everything you to enjoy a stay in Aruba. We played tennis at the Racquet Club that is available to guests and visited the pool at the Boardwalk a few times. The highlight of our trip was an afternoon visit to de Palm island. We also snorkeled at a number of the beaches and hiked to the natural pool. We enjoyed a number of fine dinners at some of the restaurants (Yemanji in particular). A very relaxing vacation after a long winter of skiing.

So where does an expert on Aruba go to enjoy Aruba?

In the spirit of transparency, Julia and Sjoerd are friends of ours, but when it comes to spending time and hard-earned money on our vacation I was not willing to settle for “just anything” and wanted something really special… I found it.

Having lived on the island for 5 years I knew all the “ins and outs” of where to go and where to stay so when I saw Julia’s and Sjoerd’s “North Shore Cottage” on the Net I dropped everything and booked.

Mascha (my wife) and our two boys Emilio (11) and Luca (8) had one of the best vacations we ever had anywhere. Much of that is directly attributable to “the cottage.” It is secluded enough that we did not feel like tourists – yet close enough that we were at our favourite beach (Arashi) in a few minutes by car.

The cottage is perfectly appointed with everything we needed for a wonderful stay. From cable TV to all the appliances we needed, games, bicycles and most importantly for me, wireless internet so I could “check in” once in a while. Our 10 days were fantastic and Julia and Sjoerd went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable.

If you’re looking to “get away from it all” but want to be close enough to “get right back in it” then I think you will be hard pressed to find a more perfect place – anywhere!
